TCC Data Privacy Statement
New General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) came into effect on May 25th 2018. These require that we inform you of the data we record from you, why we need it and your rights regarding it .
Your data and why we need it:
We record your contact details so that we can communicate with you to inform you of club courses, trips and events. E-mails to the whole of the club membership are sent BCC so that your address is not disclosed to the other members.
You may continue to receive e-mails after your membership has lapsed. We do this as sometimes members miss renewal dates, and also we hope that you might re-join in the future. To cancel further TCC e-mails just reply with “Unsubscribe” as the message title or ask to be unsubscribed in the message.
We record your age and gender for two reasons:
1) So we can take appropriate care of junior paddlers.
2) When we complete our annual British Canoeing (BC) affiliation we are required to provide age and gender information about our members, but this is anonymised (e.g. 300 members, 200 male, 100 female, 100 juniors, 200 seniors)
We record your health details so that course coaches or trip leaders can be aware of issues that might occur during the session or trip, conditions that might affect your ability to do certain tasks on the water, allergies that could cause issues.
Only active club coaches and committee members can access your data, and your health data will only be accessed by the coach leading your course or trip.
Totnes Canoe Club will take all reasonable precautions to keep your data secure.
We will not pass your data on to any third party.
We will delete your data no later than three years after your membership has lapsed.
You have the right to see the data we hold for you. You can do this by logging into the membership website https://totnes.iclubcloud.com with your e-mail address and password or apply to the club secretary firstname.lastname@example.org and request a copy.
You have the right to have the data amended if it is incorrect. Again apply to the secretary at the e-mail address above.
You have the right to have your data deleted. Again apply to the secretary, but note that once deleted you will receive no further communications from the club.
